The Mind & Safety Institute

Education That Equips. Communities That Thrive.

Help the right person say the right thing at the right moment.

A therapist, a school counselor, a patrol officer, a family doctor. They are often the ones in the room when it matters most. Your gift gives them practical, evidence based training and the confidence to use it.

What your gift makes possible

Most clinicians were never taught how to talk about firearms with the people they serve. We are changing that, with respect for firearm owners and for clinical integrity.

Training for professionals

Clinician developed courses like Firearm Informed Training (FIT) prepare healthcare, mental health, public safety, and education professionals for honest, informed conversations about risk and safe storage.

Free help for communities

Our public resource directory and anonymous self assessment tools connect people to crisis support, safe firearm storage, suicide prevention, domestic violence, and veteran services across Colorado, Montana, and California.

Education built on evidence

Every curriculum is grounded in current research, designed by practitioners, and updated as the evidence evolves. The goal is simple: fewer crises and safer homes.
