Accessibility (ADA) Statement

Our commitment to making our website, trainings, and resources usable by everyone.

The Mind & Safety Institute is committed to ensuring that our website, educational materials, and trainings are accessible to people with disabilities, consistent with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Accessibility is part of how we practice respectful, inclusive education.

Our website

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Our ongoing efforts include:

  • Using clear page structure, headings, and descriptive link text
  • Providing text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Maintaining readable color contrast and text that can be resized
  • Supporting keyboard navigation for menus, buttons, and our self-assessment checklists
  • Reviewing pages for accessibility as we add or update content

Known limitations

  • Some downloadable documents, particularly those created by other organizations, may not be fully accessible.
  • Our Community Resources directory links to outside websites whose accessibility we do not control.

If you need any content in an alternative format, such as large print, plain text, or an accessible document, contact us and we will provide it.

Accommodations for trainings and events

We want every participant to fully engage in our trainings, whether in person, virtual, or hybrid. Accommodations may include ASL interpretation, captioning, accessible seating or venue arrangements, materials in alternative formats, or breaks as needed.

Please request accommodations when you register or by contacting us. We ask for at least 10 business days' notice when possible so we can make arrangements. We will make every reasonable effort to honor requests made with less notice.

Feedback and requests

If you experience a barrier on our website or at an MSI training, please tell us. Include the page or event and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
