The Mind & Safety Institute ("MSI," "we," "us") is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit education and training organization. We respect your privacy and collect only the information we need to deliver our programs, respond to you, and operate our organization. This policy applies to www.mindandsafetyinstitute.org and the forms, emails, trainings, and online resources connected to it.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact, inquiry, and partnership forms: your name, email, phone, organization, role, state, and details you choose to share about your needs.
• Class and event registration: your name, contact information, professional role and credentials, and information needed to deliver training and continuing education (CE) credit.
• Email updates: your email address and name when you sign up for our newsletter or updates.
• Alumni Resource Library accounts: your name, email, and login credentials if you register as a trained professional.
• Program evaluation surveys: our pre- and post-training surveys are designed to be anonymous. They do not ask for your name or email. Participants create their own code so answers can be matched, and results are reported only in aggregate.

Donations

Donations are processed by our donation platform, Zeffy. MSI does not receive or store your full payment card information. Zeffy's privacy policy governs the information you provide when donating. We receive your name, contact information, and gift details so we can thank you and provide receipts.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our site uses cookies and similar technologies through our website platform, HubSpot. These help us understand how visitors use the site (for example, pages visited, how you found us, and general device and browser information) so we can improve it. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some site features.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only as needed:

• Service providers who help us operate, such as our website and CRM platform (HubSpot), donation processor (Zeffy), and email and document tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• Training partners and CE bodies: when you register for a training hosted with a partner organization, or request CE credit, we may share the information needed to deliver the training or verify attendance.
• Legal requirements: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of any person.

Your choices

• Email: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also contact us to be removed.
• Access, correction, and deletion: you may ask us what personal information we hold about you and request that we correct or delete it, subject to records we must keep (for example, CE attendance or donation records).
• State privacy rights: depending on where you live, including Colorado and California, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. Contact us to make a request.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, accreditation, or funder reporting. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No online system is completely secure, so please contact us if you have concerns.

Children

Our website and services are intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our site links to outside organizations, including crisis lines and community resources. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies.

Not a crisis service

MSI is an education organization, and our website and forms are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
