The terms that apply when you use our website and resources.
Last updated: September 16, 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of www.mindandsafetyinstitute.org and related online resources provided by the Mind & Safety Institute ("MSI"), a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit. By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Content on this website, in our self-assessment checklists, and in our resource libraries is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not clinical, medical, legal, or other professional advice, and it does not create a professional relationship. Laws related to firearms, mental health, and protective orders vary by state and change often. Consult a qualified professional or licensed attorney about your specific situation.
MSI does not provide crisis services, and our website, forms, and email are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988 (Veterans: press 1).
Our checklists are reflection tools, not diagnostic or risk-assessment instruments. They cannot determine whether a person is safe or at risk. Your answers are not stored or sent to MSI.
Registration details, fees, cancellation and refund terms, attendance requirements, and continuing education (CE) requirements for each training are provided at the time of registration or in your training agreement. Those terms apply to that training. Completing a training does not certify, license, or authorize a participant to provide any professional service.
MSI's curricula, including Firearm Informed Training (FIT), and our training materials, tools, graphics, text, and logos are owned by MSI or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print website content for personal, noncommercial, educational use. You may not reproduce, distribute, adapt, sell, or present MSI materials, or use MSI's name or logo, without our written permission.
Access to the Alumni Resource Library is provided to professionals who have completed MSI training. Keep your login credentials private and do not share your account. Materials are for your professional use and may be shared with clients or students where a resource is designated for that purpose. We may suspend access that is misused.
We link to outside organizations as a service to our community. MSI does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of third-party websites. A link does not imply endorsement.
Donations are processed securely by Zeffy. MSI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor. Refund requests for donations may be directed to us and are reviewed individually.
Do not use this website to submit false information, interfere with the site's operation or security, attempt unauthorized access, or send unlawful, harassing, or harmful content.
This website and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We work to keep information accurate and current but do not guarantee it is complete or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MSI and its board, staff, instructors, and volunteers are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.
