Our Programs
Our programs are designed for licensed mental health professionals, professionals, and professional organizations that are seeking a deeper understanding of firearm-related cultural contexts, trauma-informed care, and clinical risk navigation. We offer two versions of which helps build therapeutic confidence when working with clients who live in homes with firearms.
What You’ll Learn
This introductory course offers essential background for therapists and counselors working with clients who live with firearms. Participants will explore the intersection of firearm ownership and mental health care, including key cultural considerations, foundational risk assessment strategies, and language guidance for respectful and effective clinical conversations.
This module is designed for licensed mental health professionals and can be completed in approximately two hours. It serves as a pre-requisite for all advanced Firearm-Informed Therapy™ coursework.
By the End of This Course, You Will Be Able To:

- Engage clients in respectful, evidence-aligned dialogue about firearm safety, ownership, and secure storage practices.
- Earn 6 CE credits upon successful completion, approved for mental health professionals in participating states and disciplines.
Continuing Education Details
This Firearm-Informed Therapy course is eligible for 6 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit for licensed mental health professionals, including counselors, psychologists, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists.
Courses are designed to meet requirements for CE approval in most U.S. states. Certificates will be issued upon completion of all modules, quizzes, and the final course evaluation.
