  • 1. What is Firearm-Informed Therapy?

    Firearm-Informed Therapy is a one-day training that equips professionals to address firearm-related topics with clinical sensitivity, legal awareness, and cultural competence. It is developed and led by licensed clinicians and certified firearm instructors.

  • 2. Who is the Firearm-Informed Therapy training designed for?

    Two tailored versions are available: one for mental health and medical professionals, and one for non-clinical teams such as educators, administrators, or public safety leaders. Each is customized to meet the learning needs of the attending group.

  • 3. Does the training include live firearm use?

    Yes, the Institute offers both an off-range format (no live fire) and an on-range format that includes live fire, firearm handling, range safety, and all necessary protective equipment.

  • 4. How long is the training session?

    The off-range version is approximately 6.5 to 7 hours. The on-range version runs 9 to 10 hours and includes a practical, supervised range component.

  • 5. What is included in the training fee?

    Training includes instruction by two certified facilitators, participant workbooks, lunch, FIT Certification for eligible attendees, and access to future learning tools. On-range sessions also include range fees, firearm use, ammunition, and safety gear.

  • 6. Can I earn continuing education (CE) credits through this training?

    Yes, CE credits are available for qualifying professionals who complete the course and meet participation requirements.
